Artist

Clementine is a self-taught artist.

While studying Anthropology and Religions at SOAS University, Clementine developed an interest in the human drive to adorn ourselves creatively as a form of expression. She funded her way through university with stalls at Portobello and Camden markets making and selling her jewellery. Having been a magpie for beautiful and unusual things since she was young, it became natural to start making wearable works of art.

Clementine’s other projects include restoring gypsy caravans and working with young people affected by climate change. She is also involved artistically with music and art festivals and events, and various environmental and social projects.

In September 2010 Clementine launched Little Glass Clementine as a luxury ethical jewellery label with Estethica, The British Fashion’s Ethical fashion department at London Fashion Week A/W 2010. Her collections were very well received.

In February 2011 Little Glass Clementine was championed by Selfridge’s as one of the UK’s top twenty up-and-coming designers of 2011. An exclusive range was available to buy in-store and Little Glass Clementine was give one of the store’s prestigious windows on the famous Oxford St to curate a beautiful display.

In March 2011 Clementine was invited by the British Council to be the only British jeweller in the ethical Green Closet Show, at Milan Fashion Week.

Over the last year Clementine has been developing her ‘Tailor Made’ pieces, where she works closely with clients, inviting them to include some of their own jewellery and involving them in the design process of their uniquely made necklace. This journey captures two of her greatest loves; the human story and creating art.

She lives and works in London.
