Little Glass Clementine creates striking necklaces out of the detritus of everyday love life, juxtaposing recycled jewellery, antiques, hoarded treasure, fabric from a favourite dress, pearls from the sea, broken memorial china and exquisite gem stones to make sublime pieces that carry the love stories of a hundred hearts.

Through her interest in global cultures Clementine wanted to inspire a line of jewellery that would reconnect people to the significance of the longevity of materials when crafted with passion.

Little Glass Clementine’s artistry is in revealing that beauty and value are interpretable, that a pebble can be as exquisite and as precious as a piece of Tourmaline or Emerald. It is the meaning the object holds to an individual that is significant. The intrinsic value that is added to an object by the love that has been felt for it in its lifetime is what inspires Clementine to create deeper sentimental resonance with her jewellery.

She believes it is our memories and our stories that make us rich, and tries to give to the past’s ‘bits and pieces’ a new life. The old and the new sit side by side, creating pieces as rich and individual as memory itself.

Clementine delicately weaves the objects together consequently fusing the stories together.

While not compromising on beautiful design and craft, she hopes to show that fashion need not be a commodity we feel guilty about, as our lifestyles adapt to our changing environment, but one we feel proud of.
